Our story
Founded by
Adrian Giurgiu
Ady’s journey is truly inspiring. Born in Romania and raised in Germany, he has woven a rich tapestry of experiences before settling in Thailand 15 years ago. His story as a restaurant owner and devoted animal lover is heartwarming and speaks volumes about his compassionate spirit.
Over a decade ago, Ady began feeding street dogs, and it quickly became clear to him that these vulnerable animals often received little to no help when they fell ill or were injured. His heart led him to rescue one dog, then two, and soon he found himself surrounded by a growing family of disabled dogs who transformed his life in profound ways. The joy he found in caring for them is a testament to his unwavering commitment to their well-being. He refused to turn his back on those in need, embodying the true essence of compassion.
As Ady's family of dogs grew, he recognized the need for a dedicated space where they could thrive in safety and happiness. With determination and hard work, in 2018, he established a sanctuary in Pattaya, a place where these deserving dogs could receive the love, care, and respect they so deeply need. His vision for the sanctuary is remarkable—ensuring that each dog receives the care and love they deserve, that they are well-fed, safe, receives necessary medical attention, and enjoys activities like aquatherapy and outings at the beach. Ady's dedication gives these animals a second chance at life, filled with dignity and kindness.
Today, the sanctuary is home to over 90 dogs, majority of whom are disabled. Ady has created a nurturing environment where they can live freely rather than confined to cages. He has poured his heart into this sanctuary, but he has also faced challenges. After years of tireless work, he realized he couldn’t do it all alone. Fortunately, he now has a network of friends and volunteers supporting him, though the sanctuary still requires more resources to be fully self-sufficient.
Ady's love for these dogs knows no bounds, and it is this boundless compassion that inspires others to get involved. His journey is a beautiful reminder of the impact one person can make in the lives of those who cannot speak for themselves.

Satellite location for senior dogs
We run a retirement home in Rayong, specially designed for small dogs who wouldn’t thrive alongside larger ones. Our residents, most of whom are around 10 years old, face ongoing challenges such as ailments, disabilities, or being deaf, blind, or both. This shelter is lovingly managed by Brigitte, a dear friend and long-time member of Ady G.’s Second Chance Pattaya. Together, we strive to give these precious dogs the love, care, and comfort they deserve in their golden years.
